Job Description:


The Rolling Hills Christian Church (“Rolling Hills”) High School Pastor is responsible for ensuring all aspects of spiritual growth, development and leadership to high school students (grades 9-12). This includes leadership of weekly programs as well as periodic special events (camps, mission trips, etc.). The High School Pastor is also responsible for implementing and carrying a vision to lead high school students in a program of evangelism, discipleship, and ministry.



  • Casts the vision for every student to find and follow Jesus  
  • Executes and sharpens an assimilation process that enables students to become passionate, contagious followers of Jesus Christ  
  • Plans and executes biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high energy services for high school students  
  • Recruits, trains, empowers and mentors staff and volunteers  
  • Coordinates and plans the student ministry group curriculum and oversees monthly activities for high school students  
  • Ensures and oversees that new students have contact and follow up  
  • Maintains regular contact with parents  
  • Organizes and plans camps, retreats, and works with other staff to coordinate local and distant missions experiences  
  • Carries out other assignments as directed by the Senior or Executive Pastor

  • Preferably a minimum of three (3) years in student ministries in a large church setting plus an appropriate educational background (i.e. BA from an accredited four-year Bible college or a master’s degree from an accredited evangelical seminary)  
  • Enthusiasm for the doctrine, vision and student ministry philosophy of Rolling Hills  
  • A passion for working with students and an ability to challenge them to grow deeper in their faith  
  • A self-starter with drive, passion and initiative  
  • Teachable and willing to be held accountable  
  • Possess the spiritual gift and of leadership (Romans 12:8), teaching (Romans 12:7) and administration (1 Corinthians 12:28) and pastoring  
  • Ability to articulate a biblical philosophy of student ministries  Ability to understand, motivate, and support ministry leaders 
  • A proven track record of effective leadership, judgment, and above-reproach character
  • Confidential, helpful, cheerful, diplomatic, caring and positive attitude at ALL times  
  • A willingness to grow and adapt to the inevitable changes found in a growing local church  
  • A shepherd’s temperament; servant-leader/mentor attitude and inclination  
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills – ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately both orally and in writing  
  • Strong biblical foundation for wise management in a church setting  
  • Solid understanding of group dynamics to ensure effective consensus building and decision-making  
  • Demonstrate an ongoing and growing relationship with Jesus Christ  
  • Maintain alliance with Rolling Hills goals, strategies and vision  
  • Maintain regular attendance at worship services and demonstrate active membership at Rolling Hills
