Judson Baptist Church (JBC) was organized in March 1911 during a period of significant growth for Baptists. The name commemorates one of the greatest names in mission history—Adoniram Judson. Adoniram’s son, Edward in June 1911, laid the cornerstone for
the new church. Over the past hundred years, Judson has experienced a growing membership which has called for development of their church property into a multifaceted church and recreational property. On January 1, 2006, the church called its current Pastor,
Dr. Gene Mims. Under Dr. Mims leadership, the church adopted a Master Plan for Ministry in May 2006 to focus Judson towards becoming the Great Commission church it desires to be. Judson's vision is to be a kingdom focused church that will make disciples, mature them
as transformed followers of Christ, and multiply them as ministers throughout God’s kingdom.
Ministry opportunities at Judson Baptist Church abound including music, recreation, women’s, men’s, Spanish, and Thursday church ministries. These options offer significant involvement for various age groups, genders, and skill sets. The Music Ministry is
a vibrant part of Judson's church culture including praise teams, ensembles, and soloists. Community outreach efforts within the music ministry include concerts and special events throughout the year. Another significant ministry to the JBC lifestyle is the
recreation ministry, fueled by the scripture verse “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit…” (1 Corinthians 6:19). Among the many ministry opportunities offered at Judson, is the Women's Ministry, which is committed women raising up
generations of women who seek to develop themselves scripturally and spiritually, while serving others in and through Christ.
Judson is looking for a Young Adult Minister who will invest their spiritual gifts and leadership abilities into the Adult Ministries Team, with the goal of loving and leading young adults into the life changing community in Christ. This will be achieved
primarily through Judson’s Life Groups. The Young Adult Minister will connect young adults to the community of the church for growth and encouragement. The successful Young Adult Minister will effectively collaborate and coordinate with other Judson ministry
teams to establish the Young Adult Ministry as a part of the greater Kingdom work at Judson Baptist Church.
The effective Young Adults Minister will develop a culture of young adults reaching out to engage people with the gospel where they live, work and socialize. They will identify, recruit, train, lead and shepherd large group, small group and other volunteer
leaders. Additionally, they will create and implement new and engaging ministry strategies that will attract young adults. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Seminary is preferred but not required. The ideal
candidate will also have 5-10 years of experience, training, and education in Young Adult Ministry.
