Shiloh Community Church began in 1999 with a vision to reach the spiritually disconnected and draw them into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and His body, the Church. Shiloh began with 40 people meeting in a small rented space and has now
grown into a vibrant community of 250 to 300 meeting each week in their newly renovated building in Manchester, NH. Shiloh Community Church is known in the community for being a place where real people can meet the real Jesus in a real way. Pastor Ed Hiers
took over the role as Senior Pastor in 2006, and the church has thrived under his leadership. Over the next one to two years, Pastor Ed plans to transition out of the Senior Pastor role. The plan and hope is that the new Associate Pastor will move into the
role as “first among equals” on the Elder team and serve as the primary vision caster for the church as well as the day-to-day leader of the church and staff.
The Associate Pastor will assist in all pastoral duties but will focus on guiding and growing the small group ministry, developing leaders, and creating ways to enhance discipleship within the church as well as mission outside the church. Pastoral duties
include but are not limited to shepherding, pastoral counseling, premarital coaching, pulpit rotation, prayer for the sick, teaching, discipling. and performing weddings, funerals, water baptisms, and child dedications.
Formal education is not a predetermining factor for the selection of the new Associate Pastor. However, it is anticipated that they will hold, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies or related field from an accredited Bible college or university.
The succesful candidate will have, at minimum, five to seven years of experience as a staff member in a successful ministry leadership capacity, supported by credible references. They will show a high degree of effectiveness in leadership, communication, public
speaking, and worship planning. They will possess the ability to teach and preach God's Word with clarity, authenticity, and practical application.
Shiloh Community Church is located in New Hampshire’s largest city, with a diverse socioeconomic population of 110,000 people. The number of different languages spoken at home by children in Manchester schools is over 70. The city is a leading advocate of
economy, arts, and culture. Dubbed "Metropolitan Manchester," it is the fastest growing city of its kind in New England. Undergoing a rapid economic change in recent years, Manchester was rated by CNN as 13th in its 100 best places to live and launch a business
in America (CNN, 2009).
