Media Arts Director (MAD)

Job Description Overview
The Media Arts Director (MAD) reports directly to the Worship Arts Pastor and works cooperatively with the Staff Team to steer the church in the pursuit of our mission creating a healthy and effective culture, organizational and strategic planning, and systems building for the church and it’s campuses.

Vision for the MAD
Leveraging media in church services and in the community to reach every person in the Ohio Valley, and any surrounding communities where God may lead the ministry of the Vineyard Church, with the message of Jesus Christ in following with the Vineyard Church Mission of “Helping people find and follow God.”

The MAD carries the vision for, and leads the implementation of, culturally current high impact worship services at the Vineyard Church, and the distribution of those services to multiple church sites, on the web and other emerging media forms. They are responsible for creating a healthy, dynamic and effective team culture, organizational and strategic planning, and systems compilation and building with a commitment to continued improvement and expansion.

The MAD is responsible for bringing together the creative elements of the service in an integrated way that evokes emotion, reinforces the message, and inspires next steps toward God.  

Essential skills...  Long and short term planning, creative envisioning and story boarding, effective and timely communication, video and audio production (live, pre and post) at a pro level, team building and training with volunteers.

Personal traits... The MAD must have a strong work ethic, be driven, personable, friendly, humble, high energy, fun, drama free, and a dedicated and enthusiastic follower of Jesus.
They must be organized, a resourceful initiator, work well with people, be great with non-Christians and Christians, and be able to raise up and lead volunteers.  They must have a mindset and disposition of “always improving.”  They must own and be effective at advancing the culture and direction of the church and communicating that vision through their daily work and interactions.

Team building
Recruit, train and deploy an army of volunteers
Calendar (organization, planning and management)
Budget (develop and steward)
Ongoing research and training
Video production
Video distribution
Audio production
DMX lighting design and execution
