POSITION PURPOSE

  • To pastor youth (middle school and high school) by implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry in the areas of evangelism, worship, discipleship, mission, outreach, and ministry leadership
  • To lead a team in providing age-appropriate ministry to youth
  • To serve as a spiritual leader and role model
  • To be mentored and developed into a more-effective minister in the Body of Christ
  • Credentialed with the Assemblies of God
  • Bachelor’s Degree from Bible College or Christian University
  • Heart and focus for missions
  • Worship leading experience
  • Experience with leading, training and participation with small groups
  • Passion for the spiritual nurturing and development of youth
  • Desire and ability to reach the youth in our community that come from a broad diversity of backgrounds
  • Capable of casting and imparting vision for ministry
  • Highest standards of personal conduct in accordance with the Word of God
  • Relational skills that foster positive and growing relationships with youth, parents, and staff
  • Pentecostal in doctrine and personal practice
  • Self-motivation and personal initiative

REQUIREMENTS

  • Credentialed with the Assemblies of God
  • Bachelor’s Degree from Bible College or Christian University
  • Minimum three years full time experience in Youth Ministry
  • Heart and focus for missions
  • Worship leading experience
  • Experience with leading, training and participation with small groups
  • Passion for the spiritual nurturing and development of youth
  • Desire and ability to reach the youth in our community that come from a broad diversity of backgrounds
  • Capable of casting and imparting vision for ministry
  • Highest standards of personal conduct in accordance with the Word of God
  • Relational skills that foster positive and growing relationships with youth, parents, and staff
  • Pentecostal in doctrine and personal practice
  • Self-motivation and personal initiative

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to communicate and implement vision for youth ministry to teens and church family
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to Youth Ministries
  • Communicate with church and youth ministry leadership to address youth ministry issues
  • Advise the Senior Pastor on issues impacting youth ministries
  • Recruit, train, and equip teen and adult leaders for youth ministry
  • Develop relationships with youth families and become acquainted with their youth’s needs
  • Organize and execute youth events that advance toward the youth ministry vision
  • Provide a weekly youth worship gathering
  • Provide regular “non-church” activities and events to foster new youth relationships and provide a wholesome, spiritual environment for youth fellowship
  • Lead youth in outreach activities that connect with the un-churched community nearby
  • Provide, and encourage youth to follow, an intentional discipleship process
  • Lead youth and youth staff in outreach ministries and activities
  • Cooperate with other church ministries which share facilities and equipment
  • Review and approve curriculum for use in youth ministries
  • Plan, execute, and monitor the overall youth ministries budgets
  • Stay current on trends and societal factors which impact the spiritual development of youth and youth ministries leadership
  • Attend students’ personal activities (concerts, games, recognitions) as time permits
  • Maintain youth web site pages with up-to-date, relevant, appropriate information
  • Evaluate the ministry periodically and discover ways to improve it
  • Develop and enforce all applicable policies, procedures, and practices of the church
  • Perform any duties assigned by the Senior Pastor

  

COMPENSATION

 Preferred & Beneficial Experience in the Following Areas 

  • CDL driver’s license
  • Familiar and proficient with computers and computer programs
  • Experience with web design
  • Ability to play a musical instrument and/or sing well
  • Experience with participating in and/or leading a missions trip(s)
