Job Description:

The story and mission behind Leave A Mark Church is as amazing as its name. Leave A Mark Church is a community of faith that began in 2007 with just 12 people meeting in a living room, and now it has over 500 people attending services between two campus locations. Leave A Mark Church was launched by Pastor Steve Combs, a leader with a passion for unchurched people who struggle with whether or not they deserve God’s love. Pastor Steve shares the gospel with his straightforward communication style and has a genuine ability to relate to people with broken families, lifestyles, and addictions.

Leave A Mark Church is poised for tremendous growth as they will be beginning construction this summer on a new sanctuary and the renovation of their chapel into a multi-purpose children and youth worship facility. In Pastor Steve Combs’ own words, Leave A Mark Church is a place where "no perfect people are allowed." He credits the church’s growth to a mission that is fixated on providing the community of Columbus, OH with an opportunity to experience the warm embrace of God’s unconditional love.

The primary purpose of the Children’s Ministry Director is to provide leadership and support for all Children’s Ministry activities and programming at Leave A Mark Church. The successful candidate will oversee weekend worship environments for children ages birth through 4th grade and will be responsible for engaging children with Biblical truth and nurturing relationships. The Children’s Ministry Director will also successfully recruit, train, and grow effective volunteer teams that lead and serve in the Children’s Ministry.

While education is not a predetermining factor in the selection of a new Children’s Director, the successful candidate must be one who has demonstrated several years of development and administrative oversight in full-time Children’s Ministry. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of growing a ministry and of working in a ministry setting that has interactions with people from multi-cultural and multi-generational backgrounds. The candidate will have had experience working as an effective leader of ministry teams, with the responsibility of providing vision and leadership for small and large scale Children’s Ministry gatherings. The Children’s Ministry Director should have knowledge about mobilizing both ministry volunteers and leaders in a church of 700 attendees or greater.
