Position Description

Title:  Human Resource Coordinator

 Reports to:  The Human Resource Coordinator will report to the RP Executive Pastor

 Function:  Provide leadership by promoting integrity and excellence in Human Resources.

 Hours:  Part Time, Non-Exempt 25-30 hours/Week                                                                                           

 

Responsibilities:

Leading

  • Support and promote a healthy work environment for church staff
  • Promote spiritual, physical, and mental balance of staff members
  • Support supervisors and employees with employment conflicts that may arise
  • Promote overall staff training and development.  Implement HR related training.
  • Support supervisors and Pastors to consider consistent and appropriate employment practices (hiring, training, performance, discipline, and termination)
  • Assist in the development of the Leadership Development Program

                   

Planning

  • Coordinate & assist in analyzing staffing needs, making recommendations in line with budget and organizational structure
  • Manage the recruitment of new staff members (advertising, conduct initial interviews, reference checks, scheduling additional interviews with appropriate people, conducting new hire orientation)
  • Manage changes with current staff members include hour increases/decreases, changes in position responsibilities, etc.
  • Manage the termination of staff members (conduct exit interviews, process appropriate payroll and insurance terminations, evaluate position and interview replacement if appropriate)
  • Manage, evaluate and administer employee benefit plans including annual enrollments, plan changes, and other details.  Plans include medical insurance, life insurance, short term & long term disability insurance, 403b retirement plan, health savings account funding and flexible spending
  • Coordinate evaluation process (distribution, collecting, review of contents, action steps, update of position descriptions, wage increases, etc)
  • Coordinate reporting and ensure ongoing compliance with federal and state regulations and law

  • A  personal relationship with Jesus Christ that results in a life lived in obedience to the will of God as described in the Word of God, evident by spiritual fruit and the desire to grow in the Lord
  • Is supportive and loyal to staff members, volunteers, and the faith community
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to actively share the Gospel with lost people
  • Genuine servant-hood, faith-centeredness, and spiritual maturity
  • Spiritual gifts of leadership, shepherding, and administration

  • Expresses flexibility, cooperation and teach-ability
  • Visionary leader; forward thinker; self-directed; team oriented
  • Beliefs consistent with Ridge Point’s “Statement of Belief”
  • Demonstrated passion and ability to promote a culture that values employees and encourages them in their area of ministry to fulfill the mission of RPC

Competency

  • Demonstrate  ability to recruit, develop, and empower volunteer leaders in healthy ways which promote their spiritual growth and further the ministry of the church
  • Excellent communication and listening skills – ability to consistently encourage and support others
  • Equip and empower based on Ephesians 4:11-13

 

Experience:

  • Preferred  three years experience in employee relations (hiring, coaching, training)
  • Preferred three years experience in  administering or overseeing the administration of benefit and compensation programs; general knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Excellent communication and listening skills – ability to consistently encourage and support others
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; evidence of high level of confidentiality
