Big Valley Grace Community Church  is a vibrant non-denominational church located in Modesto, in the Central Valley of California.  More than 3500 people attend weekend gatherings, including children, students and adults. Throughout the week, several communities meet on our campus: Women’s Bible studies, Men’s Bible studies, Celebrate Recovery, Student ministries, Children’s ministries, and Spanish ministry, among others.
Founded in the late 1960s, Big Valley Grace has represented Jesus Christ to the surrounding community for nearly five decades and continues to be active in our community through various ministries and partnerships. The potential for this campus and ministry in the greater Modesto region continues to be great as we seek to “Love God, love people and make disciples.”

Big Valley Grace is seeking a friendly, experienced IT professional to join our technology team.  The Database Administrator will be responsible for providing and supporting technology solutions and systems for staff and volunteers under the direction of the IT Manager. Must have a working knowledge of MS-SQL and Windows 7 or above; excellent problem solving skills, ability to train and communicate technology to non-technical people, This individual must be detail-oriented, flexible and motivated to serve diverse, active church body and staff. 


The successful candidate will:

  • Leverage technology to support end-users to promote ministry success
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely, effective, and customer-friendly manner
  • Deliver solutions that adhere to general IT best practices and requirements
  • Provide verbal and remote instruction/assistance to the end-user
  • Provide coaching and documentation in a user-friendly fashion
  • Maintain, follow, and update documented system procedures
  • Enhance and expand existing end-user knowledge base and self-service functions
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people with tact and diplomacy
  • Be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines 
  • Exhibit godly character in approach to job role and people, possessing high integrity and able to maintain confidentiality


Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have:

  • SQL Report Writing experience
  • Demonstrable Proficiency in: Current Windows Operating Systems, MS Reporting Services, Visual Studio
  • Experience in Shelby ARENA Administration a plus
  • 3-5 years of relevant, successful experience in help desk or technical support experience a plus
  • Related Certifications are preferred
