Lead the spiritual and artistic growth of instrumentalists and vocalists at Kensington Community Church's fixed-location Campus. Develop musicians, vocalist, bandleaders and worship leaders to support the campus service and event vision. Provide a bridge
to our local community in the all areas of music.
Education: Undergraduate degree in a related field. Significant training in music, leadership and management required.
Experience: Demonstrated ability to cast musical vision, build and lead teams, lead instrumental ensembles and spiritually develop community.
Requirements: Affirmation of the mission, vision, values and beliefs at Kensington Community Church.
Oversee the vision and strategic initiatives for music at the campus. Provide spiritual leadership to bandleaders, worship leaders and all music ministry staff and volunteers at the Campus.
Create a culture of creative, surrendered musicians and powerful musical moments for people to engage with God.
Schedule bands and vocalists for Weekend Services, Midweek Services and high profile events,
Connect and incorporate the music community in and around the Metro Detroit area.
Stay current with popular music trends and genres in pop culture, mass media and modern worship circles. Have a working knowledge of recording technology and also ability in making music charts. Working knowledge of music software a plus.
Participate as a band leader and/or worship leader 1x per month for Weekend Service and 1x per month for Midweek Service.
Oversee rehearsals for weekends, midweek and any other special events involving music.
Oversee all Planning Center posting and casting. Oversee all casting decisions each week.
Be a resource and consultant to all ministry divisions of campus including, but not limited to Student Ministries, Kensington church plants and campuses.
