Grandview Community Bible Church located in Grandview, Iowa is seeking an Associate Pastor with an emphasis on Youth & Worship.


Job Description for
Associate Pastor (with emphasis on Youth and Music)

1.  Qualifications

  1. A.     He must be a baptized believer.
  2. B.      He must be in full agreement with GCBC’s doctrinal statement.
  3. C.      He must fulfill the biblical qualifications of a pastor described in 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
  4. D.     He must have graduated with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Bible/Ministry related field.
  5. E.      He must be equipped musically in order to lead worship.
  6. F.       It is preferred that the applicant be married or soon to be married.

2.  Title

His official title shall be Associate Pastor (with emphasis on Youth and Music).           

3. Organizationally

A. He shall be accountable to the Senior Pastor and Deacon Board and evaluated through the first year and annually thereafter. 
B. He shall be an ex-officio member of the all boards and committees.

4. Duties

A. Youth Ministry Responsibilities

1). He shall minister to youth (primarily Jr. and Sr. High), coordinate and be responsible for the development and implementation of the youth program with the assistance of lay leaders.
2). He shall supervise, help, train and guide any lay youth leaders in carrying out their responsibilities.
3). He shall plan and implement both junior and senior high activities.
4). He shall be involved in our summer camp ministry.
5). He shall work personally with and be available to counsel youth and their parents.
6). He shall disciple and teach the youth, equipping and training them to love and serve the Savior.
7). He shall visit the families of teens in their homes.

B. Music Ministry Responsibilities

1).    He shall plan worship services together with senior Pastor and music team.

2).    He shall lead congregational singing (as he desires/or as is necessary).

3).    He shall coordinate and develop musical groups as necessary.

 C. Other Duties

1).    He shall be involved in implementing services.

2).    He shall serve on the board of Spring Valley Bible Camp.

3).    He shall attend weekly pastoral staff meetings.

4).    He shall participate in coordinating local high school Baccalaureate Service.

5).    If the Associate Pastor has gifts or abilities that are not specifically addressed in this job description, it may be revised to allow for the most effective ministry possible on the part of God’s servant.

5.  Termination

If there is a termination of this position, either by resignation or church action, the procedures outlined in the constitution regarding ministry staff (section I) will apply.
