Job Description:

LifeChurch is about LifeChange. We are a contemporary, culturally relevant, and fast growing church that is reaching people from all walks of life who are being transformed by Jesus Christ.  We began in June of 2002 with 25 people and today have 1100 attending our weekend services. Our vision is to be a community where real people can connect with a real God and experience real life. Our mission, based on the Great Commission, is to help people Know Jesus, Grow together in Him & Go serve the world. This forms the basis for everything we do. 

         Our LifeKids ministry is in the midst of exciting changes!  We are adding 3 staff positions in order to help us develop a team approach to this ministry.  The following three positions are each part-time opportunities:

 

Team Leader (20-25 hours/wk):

  • Ensure coordination and continuity of spiritual growth of children from birth to fifth grade.
  • Cast vision and set goals for the LifeKids ministry in line with mission and vision of LifeChurch.    Implement structure and strategy to achieve these goals.
  • Develop leaders and teams within the structure of LifeKids
  • Lead overall recruitment and training of volunteers
  • Serve as mentor to LifeChurch Livonia Children’s Ministry director
  • Maintain discipline systems for children
  • Oversee the safety and security systems for children including background checks for all workers
  • Develop and oversee a budget for Children’s Ministry
  • Lead Children’s Ministry in shared responsibilities amongst the entire team:
  • Develop overall Children’s Ministry planning and calendar
  • Preview, select, edit, and distribute appropriate curriculum, materials, and resources
  • Coordinate special events (In-service children’s performances, summer camps, movie nights, Christmas party, Easter egg hunt and other midweek children’s programing)
  • Coordinate children’s programing for annual church events (annual meeting, volunteer dinner, marriage conference, leadership conference, etc.)
  • Lead and coordinate all Children’s Ministry      staff, interns and responsibilities

 LifeKids Pre-School Director (0-4 years age) (15-20 hours/wk):

  • Interface with pre-school parents, families, and children to provide a warm and welcoming environment
  • Coordinating LifeKids pre-school programing for 3 Sunday services each week
  • Coordinating LifeKids pre-school and elementary programing for 1 Saturday service twice a month
  • Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers to staff programming and the pre-school ministry
  • Serve as mentor/liaison to LifeChurch MOPS ministry
  • Oversee all pre-school scheduling, with support from Administrator

 LifeKids Elementary Age Director (K-5th grade) (15-20 hours/wk):

  • Interface with elementary parents, families, and children to provide a warm and welcoming environment
  • Coordinating LifeKids elementary programing for 3 Sunday services each week
  • Coordinating LifeKids pre-school and elementary programing for 1 Saturday service twice a month
  • Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers to staff programming and the elementary ministry
  • Oversee all elementary scheduling (including re-entry), with support from Administrator

 SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITIONS:

  • Have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  Committed to personal growth, servant leadership, personal mentorship, and being one in the spirit with the leadership at LifeChurch.
  • Is an energetic, creative, team player who loves kids and feels called to children’s ministry.
  • Can demonstrate experience and aptitude in recruiting, training, and supporting coordinators, leaders, and volunteers.
  • Is excited by the opportunity of working in a church that is growing rapidly and desires to see that growth reflected in the children’s ministries program. 
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • 2-4 years experience working with children and volunteers preferably in a church environment.
