Job Description:

Qualifications

 

  • Must be a biblically sound believer with high moral character and leadership ability
  • Must demonstrate the pastoral skill of shepherding, administration and relational skills needed to build a ministry team
  • Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Bible Study growth principles and discipleship methods as they to apply to children
  • Must be in full agreement with the Essential Beliefs of Fellowship of The Rockies

 

Responsibilities

 

Program Planning and Directing

 

  1. Manage a Children’s Ministry Team that gives support and oversight to all Children’s programs, while supporting family as the primary Christian educator of each child
  2. Oversee & support all Children’s Ministry Programs, including Preschool, Nursery, Sunday School, First/Next Step classes, Mid-Week Programs
  3. Oversee & support Special Events: Back to school events, VBS, Fall Festival, Parents Night Out, Christmas Party, Summer Camps, Missions, Children’s Worship Ministry
  4. Select, adapt, and write curriculum and program material with the review and approval of pastoral supervisor

 Paid and Non-Paid Staff Supervision

  • Interview, select, hire and supervise paid leadership positions for the Children’s Ministry
  • Enlist, equip and empower Ministry Partners for the Children’s Ministry
  • Provide ongoing leadership development for paid staff and Ministry Partners

Administration

 

  •  Coordinate Children’s Ministry calendar with the church calendar
  •  Maintain a clear and consistent communication process with parents, staff, Ministry Leaders and Ministry Partners
  • Publicize programs in newsletters, bulletins, parent letters, bulletin boards, take-home flyers and e-mail
  • Schedule programs, special events, and coordinate facilities usage with the Pastor in charge of facilities
  • Prepare and manage annual budget, reports, and records
  • Coordinate, communicate and collaborate with other church staff and leaders in other ministry areas as needed to support ministries of the whole church
