Job Description:

At Lifehouse Church, we have a driving passion to build God's Kingdom and to share and show the love of God with people who are far away from Him! To do this we are continually looking to plant churches, campuses and create new services. Lifehouse began in 2005 with 24 people and has grown to over 1300 people. Lifehouse now offers 7 weekend services at 4 campuses and at 2 locations.

  • Provides overall leadership and oversight to the Children’s Ministry (infant – 5th Grade) at all Lifehouse Church Sites, including Saturday, Sunday and mid-week, creating an environment of unity 

  • Study and understand the spiritual and other developmental needs of children within the church and in the greater community the church serves 

  • Remain current on trends, teaching methods, materials, promotional ideas, administrative methods, and other children’s ministry techniques, and implement these as appropriate 

  • Collaborate with the Children’s Ministry Campus Directors to determine short-term and long-term goals for the children’s ministry. 

  • Ensure that the church’s children’s ministries offers the highest level of learning and is engaging 

  • Create and develop teams who will write curriculum for both elementary and early elementary, creating curriculum that can be used across campuses and have the same big ideas and themes 

  • Collaborate with Children’s Ministry Campus Directors and Curriculum Team on Curriculum development and on training for volunteers and leaders, as well as keeping campuses very similar 

  • Direct the Children’s Ministry Leadership Team through prayer, regular meetings, leadership development, and relationships 

  • Develop & oversee a team of highly trained and effective leaders to properly manage Children’s Ministry Programs at each campus 

  • Develop a recruiting plan and training opportunities for volunteers and leaders, 

  • Assist in recruiting, developing, and pastoring a willing, enthusiastic, and trained staff of children’s workers and leaders 

  • Evaluate and modify ministry teams schedules, training, and development as need, 

  • Communicate with Campus Directors regarding training, scheduling, and events as needed 

  • Mentor and develop other potential leaders for various aspects of ministry to children, 

  • Develop a team who will direct (or develop direction of) related children’s ministries, such as Events & Outreaches, Convoy of Hope, Vacation Bible School, etc. 

  • Administrate, in collaboration with the Children’s Ministry Campus Directors, Outreach/Special Events Team and Curriculum/Theme Team in creating the annual children’s ministry budget 

  • Work with Campus Directors to coordinate childcare for special church events (Church wide events, community outreach events, etc.) 

  • Serve as resource to pastors, children, parents and teachers.  

  • Work with individual ministries in providing advice on staffing, facilities, policies, supplies and training of volunteers  

  • Provides pastoral care to Campus Directors and encourage directors to provide pastoral care to their volunteers, i.e. encouragement, follow up, visitation, phone calls.  

  • In partnership with the pastoral team & Campus Directors, visit children and parents when hospitalized.  

  • In partnership with the pastoral team & Campus Directors, visit newborns and their families.  

  • Provide pastoral care to the Campus Directors and crisis situations of other volunteers and families of Lifehouse Kids, i.e. encouragement, follow up, visitation, and phone calls.  

  • All other duties assigned 


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Able to work with a wide variety of “constituents”: pastoral staff, volunteer workers, parents and grandparents, children.  

  • Complies with a background check.  

  • Has a burning desire to share the life of Jesus with children and see them begin and grow in Christian faith.  

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and working on a Master’s Degree 

  • 3-5 years of Ministry experience with at least 2 of those years in a leadership role 

  • Preferable background in Children’s Ministry 

  • Previous experience developing a team of leaders
