The Video Director performs primarily visual support for Asbury worship services.

Position Overview

Asbury United Methodist Church is looking for a Video Director who has a passion to tell God’s stories in a visually innovative and compelling approach. This team member will have experience in set operations, professional cameras, sound recording, set lighting, IMAG, and managing volunteers.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the high level execution and direction of video for weekend services, including Camera Ops, ProPresenter Ops, and streaming functions

  • Oversee video production at Asbury for weekend services

  • Strong understanding of lighting, composition, non­linear editing, and color grading.

  • Ability to work independently on projects as well as be able to collaborate with teams that include producers and other technical staff and volunteers

  • Ability to co­create alongside ministry leaders, web designers, graphic artists, and other strategists
  •  Proficient in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and ProPresenter. 
  •  Motion Graphics experience a plus.

  • Attend weekly all church staff meetings as well as Media Department staff meetings

  • Coordinate volunteer efforts as related to worship service production at Asbury

  • Set up and operate equipment for a variety of functions

  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

We require a Christian committed to living a life that reflects the Gospel, who is comfortable working in a United Methodist Church environment, with the following qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in AV production

  • Ability to communicate with others under stressful conditions.

  • Ability to complete projects on time

  • Must have the ability to lift equipment weighing as much as 60lbs., to physically move around and work on equipment and connections, sometimes in confined, hard to reach, low or high spaces.

  • Good vision, hearing, and fine motor skills also necessary.

    This position reports to the Senior Associate Pastor.
