Job Description:

The Director of Creative Support has primary responsibility for managing the Church’s WordPress-based website and managing the social media presence of Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church. The Director of Creative Support reports directly to the Church Administrator and works together with the Director of Publications.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Create, develop and manage content for the Church’s web presence through WordPress
  • Coordinate web projects across ministries and departments, including the Communications team
  • Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties
  • Manage the Church’s social media presence in Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, while maintaining the Church’s tone and voice in mind
  • Copyedit and proofread all web and print content
  • Track and report on all site metrics and brainstorm new ways to reach and retain new church members
  • Create simple flyers, banners and other promotional materials via Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign, when needed
  • Interacts with church members and others as related to job duties


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML/CSS and WordPress platform
  • One to three years of experience in a web manager/social media role
  • Proficiency with graphic programs including, Adobe InDesign CS6 and Adobe Photoshop CS6
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

  • Highly developed editing skills with great attention to detail

  • Some experience with video and audio editing software is preferred, but not required
