JOB SUMMARY:

As a part of the Creative Team, the Technical Director will serve as the leader for all facets of technical production support on all Cross Timbers campuses as related to weekend services, events, student ministries, and small group meetings (onsite) support.  The Technical Director will manage a team of full-time, part-time, and contract employees in the Technical Department and will oversee the campus technical coordinators for a growing multi-site church.

 

PURPOSE:

Responsible for (1) Manage a team of full-time, part-time, and contract employees in the Technical Department (2) Overseeing, leading, mentoring, and developing a team of campus technical coordinators  (3) Providing primary leadership to technical ministry (4) Providing leadership towards shepherding, recruiting, and developing volunteer teams for Technical Department across all campuses of a growing multi-site church.

 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Expertise

Works with Creative Director to ensure all technical aspects of the weekend service

            plan are executed with excellence at all campuses.

Responsible for the technical success of all campus ministries to include children,

            students, and adults

Leads, designs and implements the technical systems required at all Cross Timbers

            Campuses for our main auditoriums, CT Kids meeting spaces and other venues

            that require technical (A/V/L) support

 

Leadership & Administration

Oversees the campus technical volunteer team for weekly equipment set-up and

                        operation

            Manages the technical department staff (leadership) at all Cross Timbers campuses

            Directly responsible for maintaining and implementing the overall strategy for

                        sending live/recorded video to offsite campuses for weekend messages

            Lead, train, recruit, and schedule volunteer teams for our weekend services at all

                        campus locations (Argyle, Denton, and Keller)

            Work with the Creative Director, staff, and worship leaders at all campuses to ensure

                        that our weekend services and events are supported technically with all

                        Audio, Video, and Lighting needs

            Promote excellence

            Manage yearly budget for the Global Technical Department

Maintain, repair and replace equipment at all campuses as needed

Provide leadership / recommendations for technology upgrades and purchases

 

Global Church Initiatives

            Participate in weekly meetings for service review / evaluation

Participate in departmental Creative and Global (Cross Timbers) team

meetings for visionary / organizational matters

Weekly meetings with Creative Director for accountability, vision, etc.

Collaborate with other Cross Timbers staff on various projects, events, etc.

Attend conferences for renewal, vision, reflection, motivation, etc.

Model the Vision and Values of Cross Timbers Community Church

Various other duties as assigned by Creative Director

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

?          Have a strong background in production and a wide variety of technical production skills. (5-7 Years Experience)

?          Have a strong background in creating worshipful and meaningful environments as related to a contemporary church worship experience.

?          A very clear understanding of high-end, commercial audio-video systems and lighting design.  Ideally, the Technical Director should consider him/herself an expert in 1 of 3 primary technical fields (Audio, Video, Lighting).

?          Some basic understanding of IT and networking infrastructure is required.

?          4-year degree or equivalent experience in a technical related field.

?          Strong skills in troubleshooting and repairing technical production equipment

?          Strong skills in communicating with and providing resources to teams within the church.

?          Strong skills in dealing with a variety of contracted or vendor provided goods and services.

?          Clearance of criminal background check

 

PREFERED

  • Have experience with Planning Center Online
  • Have worked in a large church environment

 

All staff members are required to attend monthly All Staff meetings.  Vacations and personal time are to be scheduled to not interfere with attendance.  Exceptions must be approved by supervisor.  

 

Must understand that this is a salaried position and ministry does not always fall within a normal 8:30 to 5:00 schedule.  Working outside of that schedule including weekends and holidays for CT sponsored events may be required. 

 

All staff members are required to work Easter services and the week leading up to and including Christmas services; the schedule for these services can vary according to the campus needs and the yearly calendar.
