Job Description:

South Palm is a grace-oriented church that uses innovative methods to present the timeless message of Jesus Christ. In 1993, Stan Coleman, his wife, and eight other people launched South Palm Community Church. The church is now consistently reaching more than 800 people weekly. It is a vibrant congregation where grace is the theme and people with no recent church experience love to attend.

Currently, South Palm meets in a local high school each Sunday. Although being portable has its share of challenges, that hasn’t held South Palm back. In fact, they look at it as an asset that gives them a great deal of flexibility and freedom to resource ministry and quickly respond to the needs of the community.

With an oft-repeated theme of “No Perfect People Allowed,” the staff and congregation of SPCC recognize that no one has arrived. Wherever an individual is in their faith journey, even if just beginning, they will feel a sense of being at home at SPCC.

South Palm Community Church is looking for a spiritual entrepreneur to partner with them in building a prevailing Children’s Ministry that will impact lives forever. The Children’s Pastor will oversee the Children’s Ministry for South Palm Community Church, which includes approximately 150-200 children, birth through fifth grade.

The successful candidate will not just come in to maintain, but will creatively cast vision, develop strategies, inspire volunteers, and build a sustainable system to make South Palm Kids an exciting and excellent ministry. The goal is that the Children’s Ministry at SPCC would be so successful that kids will be dragging their parents back to church.  To qualify, a candidate must be a balanced combination of self-starter and team player, entrepreneur and steady developer.  In addition, he/she must be creative, enthusiastic, and personable. The ideal candidate is a risk-taker, yet is teachable and is biblically-grounded and passionate about God, children, and those who minister directly to children. Five years of Children’s Ministry experience in a church of comparable size and style would be preferred.
