Job Description:


McCord Road Christian Church is a nondenominational church in one of the leading subburbs of Toledo, OH. Our mission is to Love God, Love Each Other, and Get the Message Out about Jesus, and our church culture emphasizes unity in the essentials, liberty in the nonessentials, and love in all things. We are currently looking for the next member of a great staff team. Our Operations Manager will ensure that the business, office, and facilities operations of our church support the vision and goals of the the church leadership. 


Key Responsibilities



  1. Answer and disseminate all incoming office communication
  2. Manage/coordinate all internal and external communications in coordination with MRCC’s communications strategy
  3. Produce regular communication pieces (i.e. weekly bulletin, newsletters, mailings, etc.)
  4. Manage church information for dissemination to staff and key volunteer leader

Information Management

  1. Maintain all information systems including phones, computers and internet access
  2. Maintain and manage all data management software, ensuring it is deployed effectively and consistently to support the mission of the church and the staff
  3. Organize and update all vital Information and statistics
  4. Maintain updated distribution lists for prayer, church email, mailings, etc.


  1. Collaborate with the facilities manager regarding ongoing building maintenance/repairs
  2. Direct facility use (internal and external) and maintain an updated building calendar
  3. Oversee day-to-day maintenance of office equipment and materials
  4. Develop and manage policies and procedures for protection of life, property and security - risk management and insurance


  1. Contact payroll services bi-weekly, providing hours and salary information
  2. Monitor budget expenses, purchasing and receipt of goods, approval of payments
  3. Manage and track the church’s petty cash and write checks as needed

Human Resources

  1. Maintain human resources forms and files and update as needed
  2. Assist Executive Pastor as needed in human resources functions (i.e. processing background checks, health care negotiation, etc.)

Direct Reports

  1. Supervise and manage any assigned staff and office volunteers


Key Qualifications

  1. Is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, shares the vision/mission of MRCC and exhibits Christ-like character
  2. Has demonstrated leadership ability and excellent organizational skills in a secular, para-church or local church context
  3. Strong computer skills and aptitude for learning (e.g. experience with managing databases-we primarily use Fellowship One and Planning Center Online, understanding of social networks, thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007/newer including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher)
  4. Experience with budgeting and financial management
  5. Hospitable as the front person in the church office
  6. Ability to maintain discretion/confidence with personal details
  7. College graduate or equivalent education/experience
  8. Able to lift 30 lbs (e.g. boxes of paper, office equipment)
  9. Availability to work 45 hours/week, including (but not limited to) the church office hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
