Mount Ararat Baptist Church
Ministry Description for
Courthouse Campus Pastor
Since its formation the heartbeat of Mount Ararat has been to reach all people with the life-changing love of Jesus. Mount Ararat began 100 years ago in Stafford, Virginia with no electricity, horse-drawn wagons and rain-washed dirt roads. Stafford County
in the early 1900s was a different ballgame from today’s Washington, D.C. suburb. Grateful for a faith-rich history, Mount Ararat pursues the future, and with a growing Sunday attendance of 3,000 on the Garrisonville Campus and a September launch of the new
Courthouse Campus at Colonial Forge High School, the movement of changing lives is just getting started.
Joining the Mount Ararat story thirteen years ago, Senior Pastor Todd Gaston leads with vision, creative communication, and a committed staff. Mount Ararat’s vision to reach all people with the life-changing love of Jesus and to welcome the outsider and lead
them to connect to God, to one another and to serving the world is happening. To continue the momentum of life-change throughout the Northern Virginia area, Mount Ararat currently seeks a Campus Pastor for the Courthouse Campus of Mount Ararat Baptist Church.
The Courthouse Campus Pastor will provide leadership and oversight for the Courthouse Campus. The successful candidate will be able to articulate the vision of Mount Ararat in a way that supports the overall vision, mission and values and be able to work collaboratively
with the Senior Pastor, Staff and volunteer teams. This position is expected to provide process, programs, and participation that nurture spiritual and congregational growth. The Campus Pastor’s success will be measured by the ability to grow and lead the
campus through the building of relationships with participants, volunteers, and the community.
Mount Ararat has a high capacity, staff driven culture that values creativity, excellence, and relationship. The successful candidate will have experience in reaching people outside the church, working with the community, leading staff, recruiting and building
volunteer teams and promoting innovation through collaboration. The candidate will demonstrate a high degree of effectiveness in leadership, communication, and public speaking. The ideal candidate must be excellent at developing leaders who develop other leaders.
Experience in working with a multisite staff and multisite setting is preferred.
A bedroom community to Washington, D.C., Stafford County flanks the historical Rappahannock River where young George Washington skipped stones and Quantico Marine Corps Base, home of the Marine Corps and FBI Academy. With its rolling hills, top-rated schools
and location a stone’s throw from the nation’s capital, Stafford County is a great place to live and raise a family. Stafford County population is approximately 128,000.
