Job Description:

Peninsula Bible Church, Palo Alto, is looking for a full time High School Pastor who is captured by the love of Christ and is called to serve in a pastoral setting ministering to youth. The ideal candidate will love and understand youth, know how to work with and train a volunteer staff, and love working on a team of fellow pastors. The high school ministry of Peninsula Bible Church seeks to bless students in grades 9th-12th at church and in the community at large through individual mentorship, small group Bible studies, large group activities, and service projects in the community.


- Lead the high school ministry
- Work closely with the Junior High pastor to coordinate in the shepherding of youth students and families
- Work closely with pastoral staff and remain connected to the PBC church body
- Provide consistent communication with parents and volunteer staff
- Biblically teach and mentor high school students
- Train and equip volunteer staff
- Oversee Sunday morning and midweek activities
- Creatively implement new ways to train and love students
- Provide pastoral care office hours (3-4 hours/week open to the whole body)
- Mentor and develop youth interns who assist in high school ministry


Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- A growing and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- A love for the Bible, a regard for it as the true word of God, and an ability to communicate it with passion to young people
- 3+ years’ experience working with youth
- Experience leading and training a volunteer staff
- Ability to minister under Elder leadership and alongside fellow pastors
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate well in person, phone, and email interactions with small and large groups of people
- Self-motivated to reach out and engage youth
- Ability to plan and administer program activities
