Job Description:

The Director of Spiritual Development and Family Ministries will provide dynamic leadership that adapts, interprets, implements, develops, and grows the mission of First United Methodist Church particularly focused in the area of Christian spiritual development for children, youth, adults, and families.   


Essential Functions:

Create and communicate a dynamic vision for lifelong spiritual growth in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the larger congregation.

Design, develop, implement, and lead a comprehensive spiritual development ministry that is biblically sound, demonstrates theological integrity within the Wesleyan tradition, is developmentally appropriate, engages a diversity of learning styles, is facilitated by a team of trained volunteer leaders, and strengthens relationships within families.

Develop a network of spiritually gifted and appropriately equipped members of First United Methodist Church to serve as age-related planning and leadership teams.

Serve as the primary consultant and thought leader in the selection of various curricula for children and student ministries; collaborate with the Pastors in selection of materials most fitting for adult spiritual development.
