Position: Worship Leader for “The Gathering” Contemporary Worship Service

Part-time, 20 hours/week


Primary Job:


Responsible for the development, leadership and outreach flowing from The Gathering Worship Service


Specific Job Responsibilities:


  • Plan The Gathering Service each week with the preacher for that Sunday
  • Select and arrange the music for the service
  • Lead the musical portions of The Gathering Service
  • Schedule, prepare for and lead weekly band rehearsals
  • Cultivate the spiritual depth and prayer life of The Gathering’s worship leaders and participants
  • Oversee the Sunday morning set-up in preparation for worship
  • Develop and oversee a Sunday morning technology team
  • Oversee the media and technology elements of the Service, including as needed: PowerPoint, video clips, images to amplify the message, etc. Create and work with a service planning team twice a month
  • Cultivate the spiritual depth and prayer life of The Gathering’s worship leaders and participants
  • Meet with the Outreach Team to envision ways of growing both the church and The Gathering Service
  • Administrate the Contemporary Worship budget, the weekly bulletin, and the online sign-ups for greeters, communion servers, etc.
  • Meet once a month with the Contemporary Worship Committee


Job Specific Qualifications:


  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • A commitment to a Reformed theology of worship and an appreciation for both contemporary and traditional music
  • Proficiency in musical performance
  • Skills in the leadership of a praise band and in worship
  • Interpersonal skills to inspire, encourage and empower others to be involved in serving
  • Skills in basic computer productivity tools such as Word, PowerPoint, required to prepare worship multi-media content to be projected during the service
