Otterbein Church is looking for a proven leader to join our staff as the Pastor of Adult and Family Ministries. We are looking for a committed follower of Christ who is passionate about helping adults "begin a relationship with Jesus, become more like Him, and connect with others who follow Him." He must be a "leader of leaders," an excellent communicator in one-on-one, small and large group settings, a team player, and have a passion to help equip parents and strengthen marriages.



Present Sunday morning messages 10-15 weeks a year.

 Develop and oversee a comprehensive strategy that helps adult followers of Christ "become more like Jesus" through bible learning and life application.

 Develop and oversee a comprehensive strategy that helps adult followers of Christ connect with one another.

 Work together with the Director of Children’s Ministries and the Pastor of Youth Ministries in developing and carrying out a strategy for strengthening the family and equipping parents to help their children begin a relationship with Jesus and grow to become more like Jesus.

 Work closely with the staff and leadership of the church in casting vision and developing effective ministry programming.

 Recruit, equip, and lead our lay adult ministry staff (young adults, men, women, Celebrate Recovery, etc.).

 Work alongside other pastoral staff in fulfilling pastoral functions including crises counseling, weddings, funerals, and limited hospital/home visitation to the sick and shut-ins.



Bachelor of Arts degree and/or Master’s degree in area related to professional ministry or theological training is desired. Previous job and ministry experiences will be considered in place of formal Bible and/or Christian Education training.

 Teaching/Preaching giftedness with experience in teaching/preaching to larger groups.

 Proven ability/skills/giftedness to be a "leader of leaders."

 Proven ability to envision, recruit, build teams, develop and direct staff and lay leaders.

 An outgoing, warm, and relational personality.

 Strong administrative and organizational skills.

 Skills and willingness to perform general pastoral duties including weddings, funerals, crises counseling, and hospital/shut-in visitation. (NOTE: We have part-time Associate Pastors of Care who do most of the hospital and shut/in visitation.)




Immediate Opening



The Position is full time. The salary/housing is competitive based on national averages for churches with similar attendances and budgets. An excellent benefit package that includes disability, personal development funds, reimbursement for business related travel expenses, and health insurance is provided. Pension may also be available for qualified persons.
