Job Type: Part-Time (10-15 hrs a week)
We are looking for an individual with a passion for God that is most vibrantly expressed through the voice of music, and is gifted in bringing others into that expression of worship. The ability to play in and lead a band is a must, coupled with the ability
to lead vocally. This person must enjoy looking for new and creative ways to express our worship to God including having a value for the visual arts. In this position, one will also need to have the ability to work with others in a team setting and have a
heart for leading and challenging their team members to a deeper walk with God, so they too are demonstrating a worship of God with their lives.
The Worship Director will work closely with the Lead Pastors in planning each service and for setting long-term goals. At West Valley, we believe worship involves all the senses; therefore, the Worship Director will be directly involved in developing this
full expression of worship within the Body of Christ. This position will also require some administrative functions and the preparation of presentation materials, allowing worship to enter all aspects of ministry.
Responsibilities include planning weekly worship service, leading worship as a vocalist/instrumentalist, scheduling/training worship team members, leading technical crews (including sound and lighting) and help with other administrative duties. Also, in
this capactity, to invest spiritually in the lives of those on your team. Creativity is a must for this position along with the ability to work with others in that process. A sense of humor and the enjoyment of working together to serve God as part of a team
is a real plus.
The applicant must have an assurance of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. He or she is expected to be able to support a genuine calling to serve in vocational ministry, and must demonstrate musical gifting and ability to authentically lead others
in worship. In addition, applicant must actively promote unity and support of the church. Candidate will embrace an egalitarian perspective of ministry supporting both men and women to fully serve God with their gifts and abilities. The applicant must also
desire to facilitate growth in the church through the avenue of worship and have a contagious expression of their love for God.
We are hiring this position as part-time, with the expectation of the person filling this position to focus on the development of worship for Sunday mornings and weekly rehearsal with the band.
