Calvary's Pastor of Students will be responsible for overseeing our ministry to Middle and High School Students (Calvary's "Student Life Ministry"). This is an opportunity for someone to build upon both a strong legacy of student ministry and the existing
ministry to develop it for further effectiveness and impact. On a weekly basis, Calvary presently serves an average of 70-80 students. This is a full-time position with benefits.
The specific duties include: create and oversee a process for discipling Middle and High School students by engaging them in environments of bible, community, and service; recruit, equip, and oversee a team of lay leaders; provide pastoral care to students
and leaders within the Student Life Ministry; create and oversee a process to promote Calvary's Student Life Ministry and to assimilate new students into that ministry; supervise the Student Life Ministry pastoral assistant; serve as the primary communicator
at Student Life events; create and oversee a budget for Student Life Ministry; serve as a member of Calvary's pastoral team, assisting in various pastoral tasks as needed.
-a passion to see the hearts of students impacted by the Gospel and God's word
-strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to both students and parents
-a leader of leaders
-ability to take a desired vision, create timely process and needed environments to implement it, and a lead a team to accomplish it
-experience in youth ministry either at a medium-large church or in a parachurch organization
-an understanding of the Northeastern culture is preferred but not required
-a college degree
-training from a biblical college or seminary (or willingness to obtain necessary biblical education in the course of the job) is preferred
