Reports to:    Elder Chairman, on behalf of the Elders



Grace Point is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead Grace Point and Grace Point staff in fulfilling its mission and vision. Our Mission is to help more people become fully-committed followers of Jesus Christ.




Preaching and Teaching

The Senior Pastor will be an experienced and dynamic preacher/teacher, whose sermons are expository in nature and applicable to mature Christians as well as seekers.  The ministry of the Word of God is one of the essential duties of this position.


Visionary Leader

The Senior Pastor will be responsible to lead the church in accordance with the church mission already established. Creative strategies and new means to achieve the mission are encouraged. The Senior Pastor guides the Elder Board and provides oversight for the Pastoral and Professional Staff. Especially prized will be the individual with a collaborative style of leadership with regard to the staff already in place, as well as the elder board.


The Senior Pastor will oversee, but not direct, all the ministries of the church. He is responsible to mentor new leaders and to equip the whole church for ministry through his preaching and leadership. He should be able to synthesize multiple points of view, and must be prayerful in making decisions.


Pastoral Care and Shepherding

The Senior Pastor will faithfully lead the church in corporate worship and encourage a growing community that praises God and seeks   to obey Him through Bible Study, prayer and humility. His shepherding duties  will include oversight over and participation in the elements of congregational care. While able to counsel, his primary expectation will be to delegate individuals needing counseling to trained professionals.



The Scope of the job of Senior Pastor is that he is responsible to oversee and give direction to the overall ministry of Grace Point with the help of the Elders, Pastoral Staff, and key volunteer leaders.


The Senior Pastor directly oversees the following positions:

  • Pastor of Restoration Church (until independent from Grace Point) – a church plant in Levittown, PA.
  • Pastor of Connection - assimilates new members and families, creating a highly relational community while overseeing all adult ministries:   men, women, adult education and small groups.
  • Pastor of Mission - leads the local and global outreach   endeavors of the church.
  • Director of Youth
  • Director of Children’s Ministries
  • Director of Administration
  • Director of Technology and Communications
  • Director of CrossWalk/Exaltation Worship


Special Skills include:


Collaboration: The Senior Pastor must be able to lead a group through integrating different points of view while maintaining a   biblical integrity.  In addition, he must be able to help others build more significant relationships with others, showing compassion, empathy and emotional intelligence.


Strategic Ability: The Senior Pastor must evidence strategic planning and a vision for the future.


Motivational Energy: The character of the Senior Pastor must reflect the fruit of the Spirit, and in addition, he should be enthusiastic and demonstrate the ability to motivate and encourage others.



Education:  Master of Divinity or Master of Theology

Experience: Preferred 10 years as a Lead Pastor in a mid-sized (or larger) church.



Commensurate with years of experience and the standard of living in this geographical region.
