Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

Christ Community Church of Weare, NH is looking for a gospel-centered senior leader with a passion to inspire, equip and lead a congregation on mission. Our stated vision is to lead lost souls to the cross and saved souls to Christ. While not committed to any particular “model,” we are committed to being as effective as we can at making disciples of Jesus. We are evangelical, contemporary, willing, and hungry. The position is full-time but part-time or other alternative schedule will be considered if desired.

Church Body. We are a small congregation devoted to reaching people with the life-changing message of Jesus. Current Sunday attendance averages around 60 but we have seen seasons of growth in the past with attendance more than twice current levels.  With the right point leader and the power of the Gospel, we believe we can grow exponentially by conversion and baptism.  Currently we focus our energies on Sunday services and improving children’s ministry. We desire to be more engaged with our community as we rally around each person in the body regularly praying for and looking for one other person to share the love of Jesus with.

Location and Community.  Weare, NH is a rural suburb to the cities of Manchester and Concord.  The town has grown steadily over the past 20 years, now home to just under 9,000 people. CCC’s building is located on the major through highway connecting several towns and is an easy drive from nearby Goffstown (17,000), New Boston (5,300), Deering (1,800), and Henniker (4,400). Home prices are cheaper and taxes are lower in Weare than surrounding towns closer to Manchester and Concord, making the town attractive to young families and those of all ages of more modest means. Fewer than 30% of adult residents have four-year college degrees. Most are employed in trades or technical or service industries in other communities. Most popular recreational activities are outdoors.

History. CCC was planted in 1994 as an outward-focused, seeker sensitive church. We have met in our own building since 2001 with seating for up to 210. We have had only two lead pastors in our history, our most recent pastor serving bi-vocationally for 10 years until July 2014.

Leadership. CCC is led currently by three elders. We have big dreams for the future and are praying that God grant us a leader to help us reach them.

Finances. We can offer a full time compensation package for the first year with intention of continuing/increasing in future years.

Desired Qualifications for Candidates

  • Exhibit qualifications of an elder in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
  • Spiritually gifted in leadership with demonstrated track record of leading
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally a graduate of an accredited seminary or pastoral training program
  • Minimum two years’ experience in ministry in a thriving local church
  • Ordained team builder who works well with others
  • Willing to share mutual accountability with elder team
  • Ability to relate the gospel message to the lives of people in the community who are not “churched.”
