Peachtree Presbyterian Church is one of the largest and most respected Presbyterian (USA) churches in the United States. Founded as a Sunday school for children in 1910, it has become a thriving, multifaceted, full-service church dedicated to serving its community. It is a regional church, drawing from areas far beyond its neighborhood and reaching across the western corridors of the Atlanta. Peachtree Presbyterian has vital partnerships with local community ministries, homeless shelters, and area churches, as well as with the Atlanta Police and Fire Departments, the mayor’s office, and other local government entities. Peachtree is a multi-generational community experiencing growth through its ministry to young families. Baptizing 160-180 babies a year, home to the South’s largest preschool, and valuing children and student ministries, Peachtree’s median age is 36. Together, they dream “God-sized dreams” and live that “ministry flows out of fellowship”.

Peachtree Presbyterian Church continues to see tremendous growth in the numbers of young couples and families in our community. Peachtree is looking for a Minister or Pastor to Families to join them in this mission. The Minister/Pastor to Families will be tasked with building a comprehensive ministry for families and ministering to the unique spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of each family member and the family as a whole. This person will be leading the team responsible for Children and Family Ministry from birth through 4th grade, ministering not only to the children but providing ministry, support, equipping, and training for the entire family.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached, building community, and strategically growing ministry. Work in a large, multi-staff setting is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have a proven record of being a gifted leader and communicator as a Children's or Family Pastor or in a similar capacity. Experience working with newly married couples, new parents and/or parents of young children is a plus. A proven track record in Children and/or Family Ministry is preferred. Formal education is not a predetermining factor for the selection of the new Pastor to Families. However, the successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree in Biblical studies or seminary training is preferred but not required. Ordination within the PCUSA is not required.
