Founded by Gerry and Jeanette Moffett and Harry and Candace Kuehl, The Church at Rancho Bernardo is a thriving non-denominational congregation with over 2,000 in weekly attendance, located in North County San Diego, California. With a vision and mission to lead people to know and love Jesus, The Church at Rancho Bernardo is committed to presenting the ageless wisdom of God’s Word in a creative, yet straightforward way in each of their four weekend services.


Utilizing multi-media, visual arts and a healthy mix of both contemporary and traditional music, The Church at Rancho Bernardo prides itself on not being a traditional church, but one that will serve as a snapshot of it surrounding community; a community that is both multi-cultural and multi-generational, and loves Jesus as well as each other. The Church at Rancho Bernardo has a strong commitment to community outreach and is heavily engaged in top priority issues for the city, such as homelessness and human trafficking. Poised for tremendous growth, The Church at Rancho Bernardo is excited about hiring a new Teaching Pastor to support their current growth, but to assist with establishing the legacy of this church for generations to come.


Rancho Bernardo is seeking a Teaching Pastor to serve as a teacher, communicator, and leader. This person should be a big picture thinker and leader with the ability to self manage yet at the same time work with a team.  They will have a teachable spirit and have a respect for those in leadership and a passionate love for Gods church. This individual will be able to see what needs to be done from start to finish in a weekend service and with their ability to run a ministry; oversee staff within the inner workings of church structure. 


The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a ministry setting that is both multi-cultural and multi-generational. The candidate will have had experience working as an effective weekend communicator and leader of a large ministry team, with the responsibility of providing vision and mobilizing to both volunteers and leaders in a church of at least 1,000 to 1,500 or greater. The successful Associate Pastor candidate will have had some level of experience working with young adults, as well as young families.

San Diego is California's second largest city, perhaps best known for its 70 miles of majestic coastline and gentle Mediterranean climate. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, San Diego is home to two professional sports teams, over 200 museums, and several award-wining amusement parks, making it a premier tourist destination for millions each year.


As a major port city, San Diego hosts one of the largest naval fleets in the world. With several national defense contractors headquartered in the city, nearly 5 percent of all civilian jobs are now military related. International trade and biotechnology are also major contributors to San Diego’s economy, and with over 30 universities and colleges, San Diego is ranked by as the ‘ninth smartest city’ in America. With a city rich with cultural and ethnic diversity, where thousands of young families and singles are being drawn to every year, it is no wonder why The Church at Rancho Bernardo has experienced the growth it has as their impact is felt throughout the city of San Diego.
