Job Description:

Big Valley Grace Community Church  is a vibrant non-denominational church located in Modesto, in the Central Valley of California.  More than 3500 people attend weekend gatherings, including children, students and adults. Throughout the week, several communities meet on the 58-acre campus: Women’s Bible studies, Men’s Bible studies, Celebrate Recovery, Student ministries, Children’s ministries, and Spanish ministry, among others.

Founded in the late 1960s, Big Valley Grace has represented Jesus Christ to the surrounding community for nearly five decades and continues to be active in our community through various ministries and partnerships. The potential for this campus and ministry in the greater Modesto region continues to be great as we seek to “Love God, love people and make disciples.”


Big Valley Grace is seeking a high-energy, motivated individual to serve high school students in our church and community as part of our Family Ministries team.  We are looking for a strong leader who is a catalyst, able to think outside the box to reach and develop followers of Christ.

Passion, Philosophy and Ministry

The successful candidate will:

  • Creatively plan, lead and execute mid-week and Sunday HS Gatherings
  • Possess drive and ability to recruit, train, encourage and retain a large group of adult leaders
  • Be an effective, dynamic and creative communicator of God’s Word to the unchurched and the maturing follower of Christ
  • Enjoy spending time with and caring for a wide diversity of HS students
  • Have a passion and plan to develop a vibrant, consistent and fruitful campus ministry
  • Able to plan and execute large-scale outreaches
  • Make student leader development a priority
  • Demonstrate passion to serve the lost and hurting
  • Demonstrate passion to lead students in opportunities to give of themselves in local, domestic and foreign mission outreach

Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Advanced degree in Biblical studies or seminary training is preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant and successful experience directing and leading a large HS/Student ministry.
  • Experience in developing a HS/Student ministry, both numerically and in maturity
  • Proven track record as an innovative, high-capacity leader, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, willing and able to work within an integrated ministry team
