Technical Specialist- Full Time (Santa Ana)

 Non-profit Presbyterian church is seeking a Technical Specialist 40 hours per week.  The position information is as follows:

 CLASS TITLE:  TECHNICAL SPECIALIST-  (Administration) The person in this position will be expected to have previously embraced the essential tenants of Christian faith, including a personal belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Perform a variety of specialized duties in the coordination, configuration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of Church network systems, audio/video systems and related equipment; coordinate designated Church-wide staff work assignments and personnel functions as directed; monitor and evaluate network systems to assure proper operation.
Audio/Video-  Responsible for the audio/video equipment of TUPC including but not limited to the installed and portable A/V systems.  Ensure compliance within established policies and procedures including technical, facilities, calendar, administrative and departmental operations. Operate A/V equipment for services and/or events assuring adequate and appropriate volume and level of clarity as determined as well as ensuring visual requirements of services and/or events are met.  Receive input from pastors, music directors, managers and members regarding A/V adjustments as needed; seek to accommodate their requests.  Plan upgrades and repairs to A/V systems in coordination with a team of volunteers.  Develop specifications and coordinate with vendors for upgrades and repairs.  Train staff and members on the proper use of A/V systems.  Create user documentation of A/V systems as needed.  Assure recordings are of acceptable quality.  Manage and maintain A/V equipment including facilities use, set up, break down, adequate storage and arrangement for repairs.  Report maintenance needs to appropriate personnel.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Hardware/Software - Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.  Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and repair computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals.  Document, maintain and recommend hardware and software systems.  Provide end users support for all applications on a variety of issues.  Identify, research and resolve technical problems.  Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Monitor help desk providing assistance to users regarding software or hardware. Document, track and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution.  Install and configure workstations. Responsible for the efficient operation of computers and networks.  Provide support for users on all supported software products and provide training to users as needed.  Maintain data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Maintain equipment inventory.  Liaison with IS vendors. 
Perform a variety of specialized duties in the coordination, configuration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of Church network systems and related equipment; assess network performance and identify problems or concerns.  Inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose network systems, hardware, cabling and related equipment to assure the smooth running of Church network systems; resolve network problems and malfunctions; maintain network system security, servers and databases.  Serve as a technical resource to Church personnel concerning network systems, equipment and malfunctions; provide technical troubleshooting, determine type of request, diagnose and provide solutions; provide information concerning network standards, requirements and procedures.  Prepare computer equipment for staff use as necessary; install software, hardware and peripherals and observe elements of the computer for evidence of incorrect performance; connect work stations to network server and assure proper operation.  Establish and maintain contact with hardware and software vendors; confer with vendors concerning system problems and malfunctions; research and evaluate computer software and hardware applications; recommend equipment, modifications and solutions to meet the needs of the Church.
