Pastor for Senior Adults & Pastoral Care
The Chapel – Akron Campus
TBD--either Pastor of Spiritual Maturity or Director of Pastoral Services
Pastoral Services Division, Spiritual Maturity Division, Deacon Board
The Pastor of Senior Adults and Pastoral Care will envision and develop a robust ministry to senior adults at The Chapel’s Akron Campus that integrates discipleship, fellowship, and service. As the key pastoral leader for the Pastoral Services division,
he will offer both oversight and be “in the field” for the care ministry.
Senior Adults (50%)
Be the key pastor to the senior adult population of the Akron Campus. Strengthen existing ABFs and develop new integrated ministries for seniors that include signature fellowship events/trips, and a call into deeper discipleship and significant Kingdom
service in the retirement years. By God’s grace, see the involvement of seniors grow at The Chapel and shepherd them to be impactful members of the body.
Pastor Care (40%)
Work with the Division Leader for Pastoral Services to implement effective pastoral care to those in need. Key areas include visitation, funerals, weddings, pastoral counseling (triage), Deacon board, widows/widowers, and benevolence. In some areas such
as visitation, funerals, and counseling there is to be direct “in the field” involvement. In other areas, he serves as pastoral advisor with input and oversight to the team.
General Staff Responsibilities (10%)
Serve generally as a staff team member of The Chapel with accompanying responsibilities. For example: required team meetings, events, and general pastoral work.
