There are 5 areas that Gateway Community desires for its Youth Pastor to achieve:
1. Build upon the foundation of our existing youth ministry. The Youth Pastor will establish relationships with the youth that are already part of the ministry.
2. Disciple the youth by:
a. Having regular, consistent weekly Bible studies.
b. Creating a discipleship plan that corresponds with each level of youth they come in contact with.
This would include those who are not believers to beginning believers to growing believers.
c. Modeling a heart of love and acceptance while standing firm on Biblical truths.
d. Creating fellowships/hangout one time per month that help foster great relationships and deepen discipleship.
3. Build relationships with the families within the church. It is essential that a vibrant ministry to the parents is established. The Youth Pastor will accomplish this by:
a. Creating a user-friendly calendar to promote youth ministry functions.
b. Communicate frequently to the parents through email, print and social media.
c. Hosting quarterly meetings where parents have input and some training/equipping for parents is accomplished.
4. Establish the youth ministry where it is not seen as an isolated part of the ministries of the church, but one that is integrated into the regular functions of the church (Sunday services, service/outreach ministries, etc).
5. Be involved in some of the extra-curricular activities of the youth (band, football games, etc).
