Job Description:

The Executive Director will provide executive level leadership to Westwood Church and related ministries with direction from the Overseer Board by developing and executing strategic plans, developing an effective organization to achieve strategic ministry goals, and provide management and guidance to key operational functions including finance and accounting, risk management, facilities, information technology, human resource management, purchasing and procurement, marketing and communications, and special projects.  You will actively participate in church life that maintains healthy work relationships; allows you to attend weekly worship services and assist with these services as requested.


Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Executive leadership

Develop strategic plans in conjunction with Overseer Board

Execute strategic plans

Impassion staff and leadership with the church vision

Administrative leadership with Overseer Board

Staff management and development

Facilitate searches and hires of all staff (excluding Lead Pastor)

Ministry Staff development (excluding Lead Pastor)

Provide support and feedback to Lead Pastor

Develop an effective organization

Facilitate key operations functions

Manage special projects

Develop the annual church budget

Manage the church budget


  1. Assist church-wide ministries

Facilitate/ moderate Congregational Meetings, Overseer Meetings, and Staff Meetings

Communicate and support of church mission, vision, and values

Facilitate alignment of ministries and resources with Westwood’s mission, vision, and values

Help with public services as requested by the Lead Pastor

Help care for ministry leaders

Help with ministry planning

Help with ministry organization


   Required Qualifications/Skills:

Preferred Qualifications:


 Lay ministry experience with a minimum of a four-year bachelor degree.  An MBA degree is a plus.
