Job Description:

Title:  Associate Director of Youth Ministries (South County Campus)

Reports to:  Minister of Students


Purpose of Position: Lead the student ministry by encouraging, equipping, and empowering Middle School and High School students (6th-12th) to grow as disciples who lead others to Jesus Christ, by nurturing a sense of clear Christian identity in students, and by teaching and supporting parents to do the same. The Associate Director will join a team of student ministry staff and dedicated volunteers to implement a vision and long-term goals for the student ministry.


Spiritual & Character Qualifications:

1)    Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a passionate, growing, personal relationship with Him

2)    Have a history of moral purity

3)    Meet the spiritual and social qualifications for elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)

4)    Be highly relational and a self-starter with drive, passion and initiative

5)    Be teachable and willing to be held accountable

6)    Be a team player with a positive attitude

7)    Possess the spiritual gifts of leadership (Romans 12:8), teaching (Romans 12:7) and administration (1 Corinthians 12:28)


Professional Qualifications:

8)    Prior experience, professional training and/or education in youth ministries in a church of at least 600 attendees

9)    A bachelor’s degree (from an accredited four-year Bible college preferred) or a master’s degree from an accredited seminary

10) Enthusiasm for the doctrine, vision and student ministry philosophy of Crosspoint Church

11) Proven ability to recruit volunteers and develop leaders

12) Ability to articulate a biblical philosophy of student ministries


Position description:

13) Execute and sharpen the assimilation process that enables students to become passionate, contagious followers of Jesus Christ

14) Develop objectives, goals, strategies and measurements for the youth program

15) Recruit, train, empower and mentor volunteer leaders

16) Coordinate and plan youth ministry group curriculum

17) Plan, organize and oversee activities for students

18) Contact and follow-up with new students on a weekly basis

19) Network with other area youth directors/pastors

20) Build a local school presence and attend school functions when appropriate to encourage students and their parents

21) Maintain regular contact with parents (minimum monthly)

22) Project and manage an annual ministry budget for all youth ministries

23) Pursuing personal, spiritual and professional growth opportunities

24) Organize and plan camps, retreats, local and overseas missions experiences

25) Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
