Job Description/Responsibility List

 

Introduction:  Parkway Wesleyan Church is an energetic body of approximately 800 believers that worship in a beautiful facility overlooking the city we are trying to reach for the Kingdom. We worship in a 1,000 seat auditorium that we believe God is calling us to fill with people who need a relationship with Christ.

 

Experience:  Worship Leading and Music skills, choir skills, sound & tech, drama and leadership development skills experience preferred.   

 

General:  Pastors of Parkway Wesleyan Church are responsible for helping fulfill the vision of seeing every generation become devoted followers of Christ.  This is done primarily through leading others in worshipping God, building His church, sharing Christ and serving the world.  Pastors must live a life above reproach according to 1 Timothy 3.

 

Reporting:  The Worship Pastor will report to the Senior Pastor and will be evaluated annually by the Senior Pastor.

 

Worship responsibilities:

  1. Will lead worship by worshipping.  

  2. Worship Leader Development:  Significant investment in individuals and groups for use within Parkway Wesleyan Church and beyond.  

  3. Committed to creativity, excellence and flow in services.  

  4. Plan and lead Sunday morning services and special services / Big Days, working with the Worship Planning Team, worship leaders and Senior Pastor.

  5. Provide pastoral care in all appropriate teams.  

  6. Recruit and train Worship leaders, Frontline singers and Band members.    

  7. Lead and oversee the Praise Band practices.  

  8. Provide consistent and clear worship vision and understanding for the church, and shall be the key influence for maintaining the vision of Worship within the total church body.

  9. Develop and implement a strategy for deepening a heart for worship, both individually and corporately, through regular worship services, special events and the overall music ministry program.

  10. Development of additional ministry teams - i.e. choir, dance ministry, drama, etc.

 

Other responsibilities:

  1. Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly all-staff meetings.  

  2. Attend monthly Worship Planning Team meetings.

  3. Schedule and lead monthly worship leaders meetings for service planning and  
    song selection.  

  4. Teach & preach as called upon by the Senior Pastor.

  5. Pastoral Care as necessary or requested.

  6. Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the Senior Pastor.
