In this adult ministry pastor position you will oversee 4-5 midsize lifestage community groups for families and young adults. These groups are the primary next step in our church assimilation and spiritual growth strategy. You will develop and support the
volunteer leaders of these groups as they learn to reach out to new people, build community, promote spiritual formation, and create a serving culture. Your time will be spent coaching and shepherding volunteers, teaching in the various group environments
and facilitating effective strategy and structure building for each group. You will make your impact through a classic Jesus model of discipleship and ministry training as you reproduce your ministry in the lives of your volunteer leaders.
Riverbend is a large regional church in the Austin metro area. Over the last decade God has been transforming Riverbend from its beginnings as one of the original seeker churches in America into a missionally oriented church committed to serving others in
Austin and around the world. Over that time we have been pursing a vision of becoming a community of faith that seeks to make others’ lives better. While maintaining our commitment to be an accessible environment for anyone to begin a spiritual journey, we
have increasingly encouraged and empowered those in our community to stretch themselves in local and global outreach. We do this through homeless ministries, a strong presence in the most underserved neighborhoods of our city, through a sister church partnership
in El Salvador and through a variety of arts and music oriented initiatives in Austin. We are not afraid to take risks and are looking for people who have a similar cultural orientation and calling.
