Ovilla United Methodist Church has an immediate opening for a part-time worship leader in both the 8:30 AM Sunday morning contemporary worship service (avg. attendance 150), and the Sunday evening youth worship service (avg. attendance 30). Ovilla, Texas
is located in Ellis County and is a growing suburb of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Ovilla United Methodist Church holds an evangelical belief in Wesleyan-Arminian theology of prevenient, justifying, and sanctifying grace. With a focus on personal and corporate
evangelism as well as local and global missions, the church has an exciting long-term vision of ministry in the community and beyond.
The worship leader will play a critical role in creating excellent, authentic, and compelling worship experiences for both services, as well as additional or new worship experiences throughout the year. Working with the Director of Student Ministries, the
11:00 traditional service choir director, the Senior Pastor, and the staff in order to coordinate cohesive worship experiences, the worship leader will also be responsible for leading weekly band rehearsals for the contemporary and student ministry services.
Applicants must be committed to Jesus Christ, and possess a knowledge of contemporary Christian music, with a strong ability to effectively lead worship vocally and instrumentally. The congregation prefers someone with past experience playing with or leading
a worship band. Additional experience with audio/visual/lighting systems, AV technology for worship, or a willingness to gain competency in those areas is also preferred. Interested individuals may send a resume (and possibly a sample the individual leading
worship in an MP3 format) to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
