In October of 1980, thirty people met in the cafeteria of Carmel Elementary School and planted the church that would become Northview Church. Under the leadership of their founding pastor, Tommy Paino, 285 people attended the final service at Carmel Elementary
in July 1983 before officially moving to the church’s first permanent location. In 1985, Northview purchased an 81-acre tract of land located in the highest point of Hamilton County, at the southwest corner of Main Street and Hazel Dell Parkway in Carmel from
Purdue University. Finally, in 1995, the construction of the new worship campus, where the church currently resides, was completed. The first service was held in June 1995 with more than 1,200 in attendance. In 1997, the church built and dedicated a prayer
chapel as its first addition to the new facility.
In 2004, Northview became an independent, non-denominational church and growth continued. In 2005, they partnered with Brookside Community Church (originally called Brookside Celebration) and, in 2007, added their Greater Lafayette campus. In 2010, Northview
opened their new auditorium at the Carmel campus, which seats more than 2,000 people. In 2013, Fishers campus was launched in the auditorium of Hamilton Southeastern Junior High School and has now officially broken ground on a new building. On Super Bowl
Sunday in early 2015, a Westfield campus was launched at Maple Glen Elementary.
Attendance between all three Northview campuses has grown to a weekly average of over 7,000 people.
