Job Description:

Primary Purpose

NewPointe’s Director of Adult Ministry will contribute to seeing lives changed by providing overall leadership to adults – which is leading people to realize and reach their full potential in Jesus Christ. This position will provide vision, evaluation, improvement, management, etc. to all things that help adults at NewPointe grow spiritually.  This includes ministry functions of Care, Small Groups, Discipleship/Assimilation, and First Impressions. 


Specific Responsibilities

  • Be the champion of Adult Ministries
    • Provide visionary leadership to the adult assimilation and adult discipleship path, including evaluation, improvement, vision casting, and resourcing
    • Work to ensure that all adult ministries integrate in a synergistic fashion


  • Provide leadership to all Adult Ministry functions paying close attention to their systems, striving toward healthy growth and improvement
    • Champion the vision of NewPointe through the creation and expression of creative arts
    • Maintain, evaluate and enhance all Adult Ministry systems that happen to care for, assimilate and disciple adults
    • Craft (help team craft) a clear bottom line target for all ministry initiatives
    • Oversee the hiring, recruiting, and evaluation of ministry leaders
    • Oversee departmental budget and expenditures
    • Maintain up-to-date organization charts with accurate ministry descriptions for each box
    • Manage entire department from “Tomorrow to Today” so as to create a culture of planning not reacting
    • Communicate values, vision and details to keep all necessary “crowds” informed, so as to avoid ministry silos


  • Provide leadership to both staff and volunteers serving within this department
    • Create a culture of “leader reproduction” for both staff and volunteer leaders within the department, ultimately developing a leadership pipeline that is healthy
    • Regularly meet with staff to hold accountable for their stated ministry action plans, and to provide coaching, mentoring and guidance where needed
    • Oversee the entire volunteer effort, from recruiting, training, equipping and care to ensure that it is effective and healthy
    • Provide clarity for all roles and expectations for everyone on the team, both volunteer and staff
    • Celebrate wins consistently with the team
    • Give feedback and evaluations to ministry leaders and team members regularly
