KID CITY DIRECTOR
The Kid City Director will provide oversight and leadership of the elementary (grades K-5) aged programming at Hopevale Church. This position requires a passion for young people and their families to know and follow Jesus. The qualified candidate will
possess both leadership and administrative abilities in overseeing volunteers and teams as they minister to this age group.
Our Kid City Director will have a passion to work with families in seeing elementary-aged children come to know and follow Jesus. The ideal candidate will most likely hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a discipline that relates to Children’s Ministry
(e.g. Christian Education, Education, Child Development, Bible, etc.). One to three years of experience in Children’s Ministry in a larger church setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with the Orange strategy and Sticky Faith philosophy would be highly
beneficial. The successful Kid City Director will be able to hit the ground running when assuming this new role and thrive in a learning culture and organization. This person will exhibit a passion for Jesus that is infectious and will overflow to children
and families so they can experience a deeper walk with Christ.
Hopevale has a rich history with a strong focus on investing in the next generation. There are numerous young families coming through our doors and we regularly see 200+ elementary-aged children on a Sunday morning. The Kid City Director will have primary
leadership responsibility for children from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. This person must be able to see not only the present, but envision what the future could be like. He/she must have the ability to recruit, train, and deploy volunteers and leaders.
He/she should be able to create environments and develop programming that is Christ-centered, engaging, and relevant. He/she must be creative, strategic, and have superior communication skills. He/she will be a team player that can work alongside our staff
and congregation and be able to align their ministry with the overall vision of the church.
Hopevale Church is a dynamic, relevant, and growing congregation of 1,800 in the Great Lakes Bay Region of mid-Michigan. We are a non-denominational, evangelical church inviting people from all backgrounds to know and follow Jesus. Our congregation is multi-generational,
our worship is contemporary, and our ministry is shared by all. In 2010 we moved into a new 54,000 square foot worship facility that houses our Sunday worship as well as children’s and adult ministries. We additionally operate a nearby 38,000 square foot campus
for student ministries and church offices. We also have nearly 50 home-based, missionally-minded community groups that meet throughout our region. We are grateful for our past, enjoying our present, and excited for our future, believing that God has so much
more in store for us. We would love to have you join us for the journey.

get to know you better.
