Flatbush Tompkins Congregational Church
Job Description:

Flatbush-Tompkins Congregational Church, recognized as an important historical and architectural landmark within the Brooklyn community and the City of New York, is seeking a Senior Minister to lead its congregation.

Our Church traces its roots back to a group of Congregationalists who formed the Tompkins Avenue Congregational Church on June 6, 1875, and in 1942 merged with the Flatbush Congregational Church creating the Flatbush-Tompkins Congregational Church of Brooklyn. While Flatbush-Tompkins is a member of NACCC, our members are from diverse religious backgrounds.

The Mission of our Church is to provide a place of worship and learn the will of God; to share in Christian fellowship, showing encouragement and love to each other, gaining spiritual strength for our personal needs, and as Disciples of Christ, to communicate our love to all people by deeds and actions.

We seek a Senior Minister with strong leadership qualities whose teaching and preaching are Christ-centered and Bible-based. The Senior Minister will consistently deliver exegetical and inspirational sermons that have the power to transform the lives of our members. Our Minister will also be a spiritual resource to our youth and the community at large. The successful candidate will have a M.Div., at least five years of experience with at least one post as a Senior Minister and a proven record of growing a congregation in numbers.

Compensation includes salary, benefits, housing and vacation. Please send your resume via e-mail to the Pastoral Search Committee at resumes@flatbushtompkins.org. Please include in your application a Letter of Intent, a one page Spiritual Biography and your salary requirements.
