Job Description:

Located in Bullhead City, Arizona, City Bible Church  is a church that desires to engage our community and culture as “a city in a city” striving to reveal and reflect Christ as we love and serve the Bullhead City surrounding regions. City Bible Church focuses on Bible-based teaching that opens God’s Word in applicable and relevant ways that result in transformation.

Bullhead City has a very unique culture in which to minister and reside as a result of being located very near to a casino driven community. For more information about Bullhead City and the surrounding regions, please visit the following websites:

The Children’s Ministry at City Bible Church is currently called Element and encompasses all ministries to children and their families from birth through sixth grade.  This involves approximately 50 children on a typical Sunday morning. The mission of Element is to create environments where the salvation and spiritual growth of children and families can occur. Element desires to partner with parents by introducing children to follow Jesus and challenging them to live like him in this world.  On Sunday mornings, Elements involves a nursery program, Sunday school hour and Kids Konnection, which is a children’s worship environment for those up to the third grade during part of our worship services.

During the week, Element creates environments for children and families to explore faith and grow in their faith through AWANA, which meets on Wednesday evenings during the school year and averages between 50-60 children in attendance. Summers include our Vacation Bible School Program, which creates an environment that engages between 50-55 children with the claims of Christ and the message of the gospel.

The Student Ministry at City Bible Church is currently called Fusion and encompasses all ministries to students and their families from 7th to 12th grade.  This involves approximately 30 students on a typical Sunday morning. The mission of Fusion is to create environments where students can come to know God, personally own their faith, and make their faith known while experiencing community. Fusion desires to partner with parents by encouraging students to follow Jesus and challenging them to live like him in this world.  On Sunday mornings, Fusion involves a Teen Bible Fellowship hour for Jr. and Sr. High students.

During the week, Fusion creates environments for Jr. High and Sr. High students to know God, personally own their faith, and make their faith known. These environments are Fusion Sr. High, which meets on Sunday evenings during the school year and Fusion Jr. High, which meets on Wednesday nights during the school year. These groups average between 25-35 total students per week in attendance. Summers include Missions Trips and involvement in the EFCA Challenge Student Conference.

Volunteer leadership and connection are a hallmark of these ministries with many committed adults contributing their time and gifts to the ministry. With additional leadership and equipping, this reality will serve as a strong foundation for future growth and impact.

Currently, City Bible Church is seeking an Associate Pastor of Family Ministries to provide leadership that will move these ministries forward at a high level, as the church engages the community of Bullhead City and the surrounding area.  This position will involve 70% engagement with Fusion Student Ministries and 30% engagement with Element Children’s Ministries.

The ideal candidate is someone who has significant experience in developing and leading students and children’s ministry and can bring fresh, cutting edge, yet biblically-based perspectives and practices to CBC.   It will be essential that this leader is gifted and committed to equip and empower others for ministry—building highly functioning teams while caring for and encouraging those involved.  Significant experience leading innovative ministry will be important, along with evidence of both growth and health.

Additionally, this leader will possess the ability to access the effectiveness of existing programs and be diplomatic when existing programs need to be released.  This leader will cast vision, while possessing godly confidence that draws people into thinking about possibilities at a higher level than has been achieved previously.  Someone who engenders respect from the students, staff, volunteers, and peer leaders in the church is a “make or break” trait for success.  This individual will not only lead the Family ministries but will consistently find ways to advocate for and be the face and voice of these ministries to the congregation.

We encourage anyone who has the qualifications and who senses a potential calling for such an opportunity of service to contact us and discuss this position.  Alternatively, you may know someone you wish to recommend for this position.  In contacting us, please include a resume outlining your experience and relevant qualifications.  In order to provide a more complete picture of you and your abilities, please also provide succinct responses to the following:
