Beginning as a mission in 1896, Central Wesleyan Church (CWC) has grown to over 3,000 attendees and is enjoying a season of growth under the leadership of the new Lead Pastor, Craig Rees. With an excellent staff team, first-rate facilities, solid financials, and a radical commitment to missional generosity, CWC is well-placed to make a significant impact in Holland, Michigan, and beyond over the next few years.

To that end, CWC is seeking a Children’s Pastor who will oversee the Children’s Ministry for Central Wesleyan Church, which includes approximately 400 children, birth through fifth grade. The successful candidate will work together with the Kid Central Team to plan and execute all weekend and mid-week programming. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the Children’s Ministry vision and plan is communicated church-wide.

The ideal Children’s Pastor candidate will possess an undergraduate degree and be a team-builder with a passion for children and their spiritual growth. A minimum of 3-5 years of Children’s Ministry experience, preferably in a large church setting, is required. The successful candidate will have proven experience strategically planning, executing, managing, and growing a dynamic Children’s Ministry, and the will possess a track record of developing teams of volunteer leaders who are equipped to run a thriving Children’s Ministry.

CWC is located in Holland, Michigan, on the West coast of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, right next to Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. The city is part of the greater Grand Rapids region, which is one of the largest metro areas in the state. Grand Rapids was ranked by Forbes magazine as the #1 metro area in the nation to raise a family in 2012 and the #2 in 2014. In 2010, Holland was voted the second happiest town in the country. The town followed that up by being voted the second most beautiful small town in America in the fall of 2014. Known as the city of churches, with around 170 churches, Holland is home to Hope College and Western Seminary. The strong role of faith in the town shows in the church's commitment to reach beyond her four walls. Holland boasts a low unemployment rate and has over 100 volunteer-based service organizations – a staggering number for a small town. With the Great Lake of Lake Michigan on their doorstep and Lake Macatawa in their ‘back yard,’ Holland offers summer and winter activities to inspire and occupy people of all ages.
