Education & Training

  1. Possess a bachelors degree, seminary training preferred
  2. Large church ministry experience preferred
  3. Willingness to pursue licensure and ordination in the EFCA

The ministry level position of Pastor of High School Ministries will oversee all programming for students in grades 9-12. This oversight includes direction to support staff, ministry to students, and active communication with staff, students, parents, and ministry volunteers. In addition, this position includes the performance of other pastoral functions upon availability and giftedness as required.


Administration              20%

  1. Create a yearly Ministry Management Plan to set vision, values, and direction
  2. Assess the ongoing status of High School Ministries programming
  3. Active participation in all-staff, community staff, and pastoral staff meetings
  4. Establish and implement annual Key Result Areas in ministry
  5. Create and manage annual High School Ministries budget
  6. Actively seek personal and professional development


Programming                                    40%

  1. Translate ministry goals and vision into programming
  2. Develop and implement new programs as needed
  3. Create and manage students and volunteer leadership teams for events and programs
  4. Plan and execute High School Ministries events  throughout the year
  5. Set direction for the teaching, outreach and discipleship of High School Ministries
  6. Develop a teaching ministry on Sunday mornings at Elevate
  7. Plan and execute Sunday morning worship services at Elevate
  8. Assign students to, find homes for, and manage grade-based, Wednesday night House Groups
  9. Write, develop, & produce DVD and small group curriculum for House Groups


Volunteers                         10%

  1. Recruit all necessary volunteers to carry out ministry objectives in a team environment
  2. Set vision with and communicate vision clearly to all volunteer leaders
  3. Regular train and  equip volunteers to maximize their effectiveness and  confidence
  4. Weekly communication with volunteers for encouragement, information, and inspiration


Support Staff                                    10%

  1. Provide work direction for paid staff – Worship Leader, Administrative Coordinator, and Intern(s)
  2. Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to support staff
  3. Clearly communication vision and roles to support staff
  4. Make necessary resources available to support staff
  5. Hire support staff as necessary


Relationships                                    15%

  1. Ensure deep connections with students, parents, volunteers, and  staff are being forged
  2. Assist students in finding ministry involvement within the church and community
  3. Facilitate counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals for students and  their families


Family Ministry               5%

  1. Communicate with parents of high school students about upcoming programming
  2. Provide resources in conjunction with the Family Resource Center for parents to encourage and manage the faith development of their students.
  3. Plan and lead Milestone Event celebrations related to high school students
  4. Work with the family ministries team in planning both comprehensive, long-term faith building strategies and also special events and family worship services.



The Pastor of High School Ministries will report directly to the Pastor of Community Ministries.  In addition, he will oversee and manage the work of the High School Ministries Worship Leader, the Administrative Coordinator, and any HSM Intern(s).  Finally, he will work closely in a team environment with all of the ministry and support staff of Constance Free Church
