Who we are:

Parkview Church in Iowa City, Iowa is a community that is passionate about sharing life through Word, Care and Mission. We are located next to the University of Iowa. Because of this we are committed to reaching the world by reaching students and faculty at the graduate and undergraduate level.


What we need:

We are looking for an Associate Technical Director. This individual will be responsible for Audio, Visual, and Lighting (AVL) church-wide. This position is full-time with benefits.


What the ATD does:

  • Manage and direct all aspects of live production for Sunday morning and special services, including audio, lighting, stage design and presentation software
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers to provide technical support for all services and special events
  • Stage design and construction
  • Serve as primary FOH Sound Engineer for main services.
  • Attend weekly Staff and Worship Arts Department meetings
  • Suggest new and innovative processes and AVL systems
  • Maintain all equipment
  • Facilitate major productions such as Easter and Christmas
  • Train, recruit, coordinate and schedule volunteers for weekly and special services
  • Create and maintain inventory of all AVL assets
  • Support AVL needs church-wide
  • Reports to the Technical Director
  • Other responsibilities as applied

  • Able to design and program lighting
  • Possess a working knowledge of video systems

  • Display excellent administrative and management skills
  • Have experience with production of large-scale events
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Satellite campus experience a plus
