Job Description:

Driven by our passion to “help people find the way back to God,” Parker Hill is a multi-site ministry. We plan to create “one church in many places” so that thousands of people in Northeastern Pennsylvania are within reasonable driving distance of a Parker Hill campus. Currently, with three campuses in Clarks Summit, Dickson City and Wilkes-Barre, we have a vision to double and reach 5,000 people with the Gospel message, or even quadruple and impact 10,000 people for eternity in the greater metropolitan Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area.

Position Description: Part-Time Music Director (with the potential to become full-time as the church grows)

Primary Function
The Music Director is primarily responsible for overseeing and leading the worship experience at one Parker Hill Campus. The ideal candidate must be musically qualified, creative, experienced in current worship, capable of providing musical direction to a band, capable of being the front person, leading others in worship vocally, and a skilled public communicator.

Service Programming Director


Primary Duties:

1. Rehearsal (8 hrs/week)

  • Learn music
  • Lead rehearsal for volunteer band
  • Mid-week meeting with other Parker Hill Music Directors to coordinate song approach, sequence & flow (approx. 2 hours)

2. Weekend Worship (12 hrs/week)

  • Lead pre-service rehearsal and worship services both Sunday morning & evening
  • Coordinate cues with media & sound techs and/or producer/technical director

3. Musician and Band Development

  • Recruitment & training


  1. Experienced in leading worship vocally
  2. Experienced in music direction
  3. Possess effective public communication skills
  4. Proficient in playing keys and/or guitar and/or bass
  5. Ability to recruit and train musicians and band members
  6. Basic computer skills – MS Office, Planning Center Online, ProPresenter

  3. Needs to be able to follow directions & cues as outlined in weekend plans
  4. Possess a passion for God, music & people


  • Part Time (20-24 hours / week) Must be available to work during services times on weekends and holidays (including Easter & Christmas Eve)     


  • To be determined by the Directional Leadership Team. Salary will be based on current wage scales for similar positions in similar size churches
