Fellowship Alliance Chapel is a thriving community-focused congregation located in Medford New Jersey. Founded in a converted garage in 1980 by Pastor Marty Berglund, Fellowship Alliance Chapel has grown from a small group of 17 believers to a strong community
of 2,500. Due to the constant growth and momentum that God has blessed Fellowship Alliance Chapel with in recent years, the need for future expansion has become apparent. In the last year, Fellowship Alliance has begun a new building project that includes
a state of the Art worship venue, as well as a dedicated and themed space for their children’s ministry. This comes at a unique time, as the church is also looking for a new Children’s Pastor who will provide leadership and direction for the ministry as they
transition into this new season and beyond. This person will play a crucial role in its planning, the move into the new space, and the development of how the Children’s Ministry at Fellowship Alliance Chapel will look in the coming years.
The future is very bright for the Fellowship Alliance Chapel as well as the community that they are impacting. Pastor Marty’s heart and leadership have made a huge impact on the traditionally unchurched and de-churched Catholic area. With the new facilities,
a passion for reaching the lost, and the right leader to continue to reach out to children and young families through the Children’s ministry, Fellowship Alliance should see astounding growth in the coming years.
The Children's Pastor will serve as the chief leader and communicator for children's ministries at Fellowship Alliance Chapel (birth-4th grade). While all ministries at Fellowship Alliance Chapel will function within the framework of the larger church vision,
the Children's Pastor will seek to creatively implement that vision in a relevant and effective manner in the Children’s Ministry large group and small group structure. The Children’s Pastor will be responsible to ensure all of the operations, structure, curriculum,
and worship experience of the Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary.
The successful candidate will have at least five years experience of church experience and will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached with a high degree of innovation, recruitment, and retention of new members. Proven
experience in creative thinking and problem solving is strongly preferred. Work history in communication and leadership is a must. Formal education is not a predetermining factor for the selection of the new Children's Pastor. However, it is likely that they will
hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree in biblical studies, seminary training, or divinity is preferred, but not required.
The township of Medford, NJ is considered one of the top suburbs in the Philadelphia area. It has a friendly, small town feel, while being located just a short thirty-minute drive from the culturally rich center of Philadelphia. It is a highly scholastic
as well as completive community, with a lot focus on academics as well as sports. The greatest distraction from getting the community through the church doors on Sundays is the Jersey shore and youth soccer games. Medford is a very lush and beautiful part
of New Jersey that has a rich history of mainline and Catholic cultural Christians. With its proximity to Baltimore, DC, New York, and of course Philadelphia, it has a very large concentration of unchurched individuals. The town of Medford is around 25,000,
however the body of the church is comprised of individuals from the greater surrounding and Philadelphia area, both incorporated and unincorporated.
