Title: Maintenance Director
Reports To: Operations Director
Job Purpose: To fulfill our mission by directing the maintenance department to make the grounds, facilities, and fleet of Camp Eagle not be a distraction from the guests’ experience and to promote a high degree of stewardship with the “physical
plant” resources we have been blessed with, guided by sound management practices and in line with camp’s mission, vision, and values.
Take chief responsibility for scheduling and holding regular weekly tactical meetings with each manager within the department, brief team huddles, regular property walks, and weekly team meetings.
Take chief responsibility for encouraging systems for organization and standardization (i.e. calendars, task management, check-in/out, asset management, service records, job performance, professional work practices, etc.).
Responsible for encouraging the professional growth of each of your team members and helping your managers do the same for their employees.
Promote harmony within the department by managing staff’s responsibilities, workloads, and health of inter-departmental professional relationships.
Consistently evaluating job performances for quality control and growth towards in organization, using departmental systems.
Pursuing industry leading systems management through use and enforcement of digital systems that promote transparency, accountability, record keeping, and a high degree of organization.
Willing to share the workload of overburdened areas of the department.
Take part in on-call shifts on a rotational basis as a way to help the department share the load and to promote good morale within the department.
Promote a growing degree of excellence and safety within the department by pursuing knowledge of safety systems and compliance towards all appropriate governing bodies.
Other Duties of ALL Camp Eagle Staff:
Camp Eagle operates year-round. We have guests on the premises most days of the year. Serving guests according to our mission is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include: cooking,
cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, being friendly and professional to all guests on property with each interaction, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends,
and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.
Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The “ideal” candidate will have:
Five or more years property management experience.
Ability to communicate well with team members, staff, and guests.
Willingness to perform routine tasks regularly and on time, with deadlines weekly and monthly.
Skill and desire to provide excellent leadership, administration, management, and organization.
This job will be performed primarily on location at the Camp Eagle Texas location.
Occasional trips to town for parts. Possible infrequent travel to workshop trainings, such as: OSHA, potable and waste water system training, management, etc.).
Ability to: occasionally lift heavy loads, often walk all over the property and facilities, occasionally stand for a lengthy period of time, regularly sit for many hours on end, and regularly bend and squat to perform maintenance tasks. Willing to get your
Will consistently work outdoors, in all weather conditions. Will regularly work in an office environment. Will occasionally operate heavy machinery and smaller machinery that requires caution, such as chainsaws and other small engine equipment. Will infrequently
work at height and on slippery surfaces. Will occasionally work under vehicles.
