This pastoral position is responsible teaching, scheduling and building high quality teams. In addition to the duties the pastor will also assist in planning and running all children ministry events.



-A passion for children's ministry and equipping parents to be the spiritual leaders of the family.

-Effectiveness in recruiting, motivating, equipping and scheduling volunteer leaders to minister to children & families.

-Ability to design and develop ministry programs.

-Expert level written and verbal communication skills.

-Demonstrated ability to understand and relate to children and their families.

-Commitment to reach out to new families and get them connected into the church family.

-Drives, owns, and communicates overall vision and mission of's Children's Ministry

-Manages overall organization, design, and oversight of Children's Ministry programs.

-Recruit, train, schedule, and lead teams of volunteers including assimilation of new volunteers.

-Create environments, activities, and programs for each age group that will capture a child’s excitement   and facilitate learning as well as encourage spiritual growth.



-Provide pastoral guidance and encourage spiritual growth in not only children but all K-5th grade volunteers as well.

-Lead, shepherd, provide vision and direction, encourage, motivate and pray for the volunteers building a family like atmosphere.

-Commit to meeting with leaders bi-weekly to provide on-going training and communication.



-Evaluates, implements, and monitors all curriculum and activities for the K-5th grade classrooms.

-Works with Administrative Director to create and choose curriculum.



-Maintain systems as well as train and mobilize volunteers to develop a consistent quality of programming on a weekly basis.

-Participates in department meetings to discuss ministry strategy and effectiveness.

-Be an effective ministry team member who collaborates on “all church” events, attends weekly staff meetings, & other general staff requirements.

-Coordinates yearly program calendar.

-Ensures that facilities are appropriate. This includes safety, functionality for programming, appeal to kids, appeal to parents, adequate amounts of space, etc.

-Creates and oversees policies and procedures to provide a safe, quality environment for children.

-Provide care for children & families of the church including hospital visits and follow-up.



-Communicates vision and purpose of children's ministry.

-Development and oversight weekend teaching team for elementary age to supplement their role as the primary communicator.

-Responsible for all communications of children's programs, events, and responsibilities to parents, children, and volunteers.

-Communicate clearly and effectively with parents as well as provide the tools they need for spiritual leadership of their family.

-Equip and encourage parents as the Biblical leaders of their households.
